What People are saying: "Leamos Juntos has helped my older son learn to read, and now sometimes my older kids read with the youngest one." - Rita Rivera

The Hispanic Family Focus Program (HFFP) strengthens families by equipping them with the parenting skills necessary to create a positive home-life for themselves and their children. HFFP is a culturally relevant prevention program that addresses barriers which have kept Latino families in high-risk status.

HFFP is based on a belief that stronger Latino families will produce stronger community pride, and ultimately result in better neighborhoods.

All enrolled clients complete one of three 15-week sessions, which meet two hours per week. This includes six ATOD prevention education weeks and nine weeks of parenting, which includes but is not limited to the importance of school attendance, communication skills, managing anger and problem solving.

To enhance the family’s chances of success in the Hispanic Family Focus programs, Adelante also offers support services, including General Equivalency Diploma (GED) and English as a Second Language (ESL) classes. Adelante provides additional support to ensure success in these programs, including transportation to group sessions and appointments, child care, home visits and referrals to local providers for food, clothing and shelter.
